This privacy notice explains how AFD Transport Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects personal information you provide when you contact us through this website or by phone or email. We are the data controller for any personal information we collect.

AFD Transport Ltd is a limited company registered in England and Wales (Companies House number 04953584), based in Balcombe, West Sussex. We provide grab hire, muck away and aggregate delivery services across Sussex and Surrey.

What information we collect
When you fill in the contact form on this site, we collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address (optional)
- The service you're enquiring about
- The details of your job (whatever you choose to tell us)
If you call or email us directly, we'll have whatever information you share with us in that conversation.
Why we collect it and our lawful basis
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote and arrange the work if you decide to go ahead. The lawful basis under UK GDPR is one of the following, depending on the situation:
- Legitimate interests, replying to enquiries from prospective customers and answering questions about our services.
- Performance of a contract, once you've booked a job with us, we use your details to deliver the service and invoice you.
- Legal obligation, we keep records for accounting and tax purposes as required by HMRC, and waste transfer records as required by the Environment Agency.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information to anyone. We share it only with the following:
- Netlify, our website host, which processes contact form submissions on our behalf. Their privacy notice is at netlify.com/privacy.
- Our accountant, for invoicing, tax and bookkeeping where relevant.
- HMRC, the Environment Agency or other authorities, where we're legally required to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months in case you come back to us. If you become a customer, we keep your records for at least 6 years from the end of the relevant tax year, to comply with HMRC requirements. Waste transfer notes are kept for at least 2 years as required by waste regulations.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently use tracking cookies. We may add a privacy-friendly analytics tool in future. If we do, we'll update this notice to explain what's tracked and how to opt out.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- Ask us to delete your information (subject to our legal record-keeping obligations)
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Withdraw consent where we're relying on it
